In the 1960s the most exciting place on earth for two young boys in the Twin Cities had to be the Excelsior Amusement Park. The rushing sounds of the rickety Roller Coaster and the screams as it dropped. The aroma of cotton candy and hot dogs, and the sight of the carousel. All of it perched on the shoreline of Lake Minnetonka.
But the place that held the most fascination was the Funhouse. For the price of Funhouse admission, you could experience multiple thrills under one roof. Stumbling through the rolling barrel, attempting to walk across the spinning floor, navigating the hall of mirrors, feeling the blast of air shooting up from the floor, and last of all the gunny sack slide. For kids with limited funds, one ticket offered an awful lot of excitement.
The park closed up its doors and was torn down in 1973 to become just a memory. But part of the amusement park was sparked back to life for two brothers who never forgot. After years of working in the business world, honing their skills, these brothers decided to combine their creative abilities within a promotional venture, all the while making sure that it was fun. Tons of fun under one roof, like the old Funhouse. Funhouse Creative was born, with the hope of bringing creative expertise to those who desire a unique and affordable approach to their promotional needs. The Funhouse is open again...
